The Koch Classictone SE 6 is designed for the more discerning guitarist who loves a straightforward approach to guitar amplification. The Classictone SE 6 features a single-ended 100% Class A all-tube amplifier. Our goal was to use as few components as possible to create an amplifier that is very dynamic, responds perfectly to a guitarist's playing style and style, while allowing the tubes to color the sound in a natural way.

The beauty of the single-ended design of the Classictone SE 6 is that players can experiment with different types of tubes to get special different sound characters out of the amp. For example, if you use the EL84 tube, the amplifier will deliver the (tube) sound as it should be. With single-coil pickups you have nice glockenspiel and sparkling clean sounds, with humbuckers the sound gets a little darker. The overdrive is smooth. The tubes have just the right amount of compression to keep up with the overdrive and control it beautifully, while blooming nicely as the note fades out. This creates a very nice organic sustain.
On the other hand, with the EL6V6 tube, it has the classic tone you want, plenty of gain and very little noise. With this tube, the amp sounds great, period. You get clean with smooth, clear highs, but at the other end of the spectrum, it delivers big, fat bass notes that are well-defined and have a piano-like quality. Turn up the gain, and you get everything from a nice crunch to a completely screaming distortion - and not just mush, but a very controllable, musical distortion.
The built-in auto-bias circuit allows you to swap out different types of tubes without having to re-tension the amplifier. With the Classictone SE 6, you can create new sounds over and over again by adjusting the single tone knob in combination with the three voicing switches (Mid-Boost, Bass-Cut &; Gain Boost) and with the Gain and Volume controls.

The mid boost provides extra definition and the bass cut keeps the bass tight at higher distortion levels. By cranking up the gain and adding gain boost, you can create a more saturated sound that gets richer the more you turn up the volume knob. Since most guitarists love to record their own inspiring soundscapes, we've added a recording output with built-in speaker simulation to get the best direct recording results. The speaker'
s power button allows you to turn off the speaker for silent recording while sending power to an internal dummy load. For added flexibility, the Classictone SE 6 is equipped with a line input for connecting an external preamplifier such as .dem Koch Pedaltone.

Last but not least, you can use the Classictone SE 6 in two power modes. The standby switch has three positions: Standby, Full Power and Low Power Consumption. In low-power mode, the amplifier delivers only one-third of its rated output power (full-power mode), allowing you to create complete natural power amplifier distortion at lower volumes.
